At Body Kinect we want to shine a light on some of our male clients who are making positive steps every day to improve their health.
Our clients live with mental illness and the reality is that in this demographic the risk of lifestyle illnesses like heart disease, obesity and type II diabetes increases.

Today we’d love to introduce you to Mariusz who is making small positive changes every day to take control of his health and happiness.

We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Madam Heap, mindfulness masters, and learnt so much about the impact that mindful practise can have on our daily life. These lovely ladies were so insightful and gave us tons of practical ways that we can introduce mindful habits in our day so it was a no brainer that we would ask them to share their thoughts with you in our Five Minutes series. Luckily they said yes!

Introducing Carrie and Mandy from Madam Heap…

Oh exercise…we love you but sometimes you are really hard to get excited about. It’s either too hot or too cold and when that alarm goes off it’s so much easier to pull the covers back over your head and pretend you didn’t hear it.

But before you nod your head in agreement, have you ever thought of the effect that exercise has on your happiness? Yes we know what it does for our bodies (we never stop hearing about that!) but we wanted to shed some light on what it does for our happiness. Read on and next time you’re tempted to stay in bed just think of the happy thoughts that are waiting for you on the other side of your workout. Who could say no to that!

Homemade falafel & bean salad – Spinach leaves, sliced avocado, shredded carrot, shredded cucumber, falafels, butter beans – Dressing: Olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and shaved Parmesan.

What does your morning routine look like?

If there is one thing we all have in common, it is that we need food to survive. Yet if there is one topic that gets us seriously riled up, it is food, what we should eat and how. The options are endless when it comes to what diet we should eat, and we can mistakenly use our food to define ourselves. I am Paleo, Vegan, Vegetarian, Sugar free…

Ultimately, the end goal is the same. We all want to feel good and live our best life, and while millions of people around the world are wondering where their next bite will even come from, we’re getting caught up in whether our salmon is wild caught from pure Alaskan waters and has the perfect fat ratios.
Let’s all take a breath and chill out!
In our Western Society, we have such an abundance of food, and on a daily basis we have contradictory nutritional advice being thrown at us by experts. Confusing much?! Pair this abundance of food and choice, with our complex bodies, and it is simply impossible for one expert to devise a way of eating that is perfect for every unique body!
